The Racquet Club of Philadelphia
215 South 16th Street
Philadelphia, PA
Kicking off PCCP's 2011-2012 season will be a lively discussion about City Hall corruption and the role of the Inspector General. In December 2007, Amy Kurland left the U.S. Attorney's Office after 24 years as a prosecutor to become Philadelphia's Inspector General. She accepted Mayor Nutter's appointment because she "believed that the Inspector General's office could make a difference in the fight against corruption in City government." Ms. Kurland will talk about the role of her office, the Mayor's initiatives to battle public-sector corruption, the progress made to-date, and the challenges still ahead.
