Join us on Friday, January 17, for an illuminating discussion with Chellie Cameron, president and CEO of the Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce. Chellie will talk about the economic and business strengths and challenges of the city and region, both in the near and long term. The Chamber of Commerce for Greater Philadelphia represents around 6,000 businesses employing more than 600,000 people across 11 counties. It works with local and state officials and partners to amplify businesses' impact in the city and region, and advocates for a more competitive business climate to grow a vibrant and diverse business community. Before joining the Chamber in 2022, Rochelle (“Chellie”) L. Cameron served for 11 years at the City of Philadelphia’s Department of Aviation, including six years as CEO of both Philadelphia International and the Northeast Philadelphia Airports. In that role, Chellie was the city’s chief aviation representative in local, state, national, and international affairs. She was responsible for the operation of the airport system, and directed the planning, development, and administration of all airport activities during her tenure. Prior to Philadelphia, Chellie spent 13 years working for the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority, and previously served for seven years as an active-duty officer in the United States Air Force. She completed her military service in 1998 as an active-duty Captain. In addition to the Chamber, Chellie serves as the Chair of the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia’s Economic and Community Advisory Council, and she represents the Chamber on the Boards of Directors for the Philadelphia Industrial Development Corporation (PIDC), the University City Science Center, the World Trade Center of Greater Philadelphia, and the Philadelphia Convention and Visitors Bureau. Chellie has received recognition as a collaborative and inclusive leader. Most recently, she was included in Philadelphia Magazine’s “150 Most Influential Philadelphians” list, the Philadelphia Business Journal’s 2023 “Power 101” list, and City & State PA’s 2022 “Philly Power 100” and 2023 “Power of Diversity” lists. Chellie holds a B.A. from the University of Notre Dame in Government with a special concentration in economics and philosophy and an M.B.A. from Auburn University at Montgomery. She is a Certified Public Accountant in the Commonwealths of Pennsylvania and Virginia.
