"PCCP Zoom Event: Labor's Moment"

Ryan N. Boyer, the first African American leader of the influential Philadelphia Building and Construction Trades Council, will talk about organized labor's pivotal role in the recent elections and its drive for equitable, inclusive, and resilient economic growth in Philadelphia. Boyer ascended in 2021 to the leadership of the Building and Trades Council, a consortium of more than 50 labor unions. Boyer also serves as Business Manager of the Laborers District Council of the Metropolitan Area of Philadelphia and Vicinity, the parent body of three local unions with more than 6,000 members. Among other actions as the union leader, Boyer has partnered with business and civic leaders to create the Philadelphia Equity Alliance (www.philadelphiaequityalliance.org), whose mission is to close the racial wealth gap in the local economy by growing minority-owned businesses, increasing and improving minority employment and pushing for pay equity.
